Elie Wiesel is a Jewish writer, professor, political activitst, Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor. He is best known for Night, a memoir that describes his experiences during the Holocaust andhis imprisonment in concentration camps.
Wiesel was awarded the 1986 Novel Peace Prize.
